This week saw widespread military engagements across Myanmar, particularly in Sagaing and Tanintharyi, while resistance forces successfully captured key military camps in Kachin State. The junta intensified its crackdown on civilians through mass arrests and the use of heavy artillery in residential areas.
Key Events
- On September 16, a monk and a lay attendant were killed during an aerial bombardment by SAC forces at Kha Yan Sat Kone Village in Indaw Township, Sagaing Region.
- On September 18, KIA forces captured the Lailum Aung Ja military camp in Moemauk Township, Kachin State, prompting intense SAC counter-attacks by land and air.
- On September 18, SAC forces killed four civilians, burned 12 houses, and arrested 130 people during a raid on Lat Ku Village in Palaw Township, Tanintharyi Region.
