Sagaing and Mandalay regions suffered the highest civilian casualties and property destruction due to intensified air strikes and arson, while the Arakan Army and KIA achieved significant tactical gains in Magway and Kachin.
Key Events
- On February 2, the Arakan Army and Joint Forces took control of a Military Council fence post in Ngaphe Township, Magway Region, resulting in approximately 80 junta fatalities.
- The Kachin Independence Army and Joint Forces successfully captured the headquarters of the 366th Artillery Battalion in Bhamo Township, Kachin State.
- Military forces burned down 98 houses across four regions, with the most severe destruction occurring in Sagaing (37 houses) and Mandalay (30 houses).
- A total of 94 civilians were arrested across six regions and two states, with the highest numbers reported in Bago Region and Mon State.
- The Military Council dismissed the Union ministers for Hotels and Tourism, Labor, and Sports and Youth Affairs on January 31.
