Conflict intensified across Sagaing, Mon, and Magway regions, resulting in high junta casualties and widespread arson. Resistance forces, particularly the KIA, successfully seized several military camps in Kachin and Northern Shan State while locals continued to boycott junta election preparations.
Key Events
- On October 17, SAC fighter jets attacked the KIA Brigade (9) Headquarters in Anantpa village, Hpakant township, resulting in the death of two KIA soldiers.
- On October 19, SAC troops on patrol in Nattalin township, Bago region, used non-CDM elephant keeper staff as human shields.
- KIA and PDF forces captured multiple military council installations this week, including camps in Shwegu, Kutkai, and two camps on the Bhamo road in Momauk township.
