This week saw heavy clashes across central and northern Myanmar, particularly in Sagaing and Magway, accompanied by a sharp rise in civilian arrests and the burning of over 160 homes. Anti-election protests persisted in several townships despite intensified military operations and artillery strikes on residential areas.

Key Events

Local residents in Yinmarbin and Launglon townships organized protests against the SAC’s proposed 2023 election.
Resistance forces conducted a bomb attack on a police station and construction office in Natogyi, Mandalay Region.
SAC forces burned down more than 60 houses in Pazun Myaung Village, Nyaunglebin Township, following military engagements in Bago Region.
A major clash between SAC troops and PDF joint forces occurred between Htan Taw Nge and Thae Taw villages in Yesagyo, resulting in high military casualties.
SAC troops burned down 100 houses in Si Kan Village and killed a child in Tar Han Ward, Kale Township, Sagaing Region.
