Conflict was most severe in Sagaing and Karenni, where the military junta intensified arson campaigns that destroyed over 1,000 homes. Significant junta casualties occurred during heavy clashes in Demoso, while the SAC targeted civil servants and educators linked to the National Unity Government.
Key Events
- On March 25, heavy clashes in Daw Thama Gyi village, Demoso township, Karenni State resulted in the deaths of over 90 SAC soldiers and five PDF fighters.
- SAC troops set fire to Sone Konen village in Budalin township on March 25, destroying more than 200 houses and causing the deaths of seven elderly civilians.
- Junta forces arrested 15 teachers in Mandalay region on March 22 for participating in the National Unity Government’s (NUG) online education system.
- Aerial attacks and heavy weapons fire by SAC troops in Saw Hti and Lal Do townships displaced over 3,000 civilians and destroyed a primary school.
- In Sagaing’s Pale township, a junta airstrike near Zee Phyu Kone village on March 22 resulted in the deaths of four PDF members.
