Key Events

• Sagaing Region faced the most intense aerial bombardment of the month with 175 reported airstrikes and the highest number of civilian arrests at 314 individuals.
• Mandalay Region recorded the highest number of military engagements with 49 clashes, resulting in 241 junta fatalities and the destruction of 1,987 civilian houses.
• Magway Region experienced significant infrastructure loss with 836 houses burned down and 60 airstrikes conducted by the military council.
• Rakhine State suffered 51 civilian deaths and 23 airstrikes as conflict persisted across the coastal state throughout December.
• Bago Region emerged as a secondary front for ground conflict and arrests, recording 26 clashes and the detention of 131 civilians by military forces.
