Conflict intensity remains concentrated in Central Myanmar and border regions, with Sagaing experiencing the highest frequency of both aerial assaults and arson attacks. The week was also characterized by significant territorial gains for resistance forces in Kachin State and a high volume of arbitrary arrests in the Bago Region.
Key Events
- On November 20, revolutionary forces led by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) successfully captured the town of KanPaik Ti in Waingmaw Township.
- The Military Council conducted 78 airstrikes in Sagaing Region alone, representing more than half of all aerial attacks recorded nationwide during the week.
- A major security crackdown in Bago Region resulted in the arrest of 60 civilians, the highest number reported among all states and regions.
- Joint arson operations by the Military Council destroyed 501 houses, specifically targeting 314 homes in Sagaing and 187 in Magway.
- A joint security team for the Kyauk Phyu Special Economic Zone in Rakhine State was established between the Military Council and Chinese personnel, including representatives from the CITIC Group.
