Conflict remained most intense in the Sagaing region, which suffered the majority of civilian deaths and arson attacks, while widespread boycotts against the SAC's proposed 2023 elections continued across multiple regions.
Key Events
- July 8: A junta airstrike in Mindat Township, Chin State, killed two women and a nine-year-old girl.
- July 11: Approximately 100 houses were burned down by SAC forces in Ayadaw Township, Sagaing, following an attack that killed three civilians.
- July 13: Intense clashes in Waingmaw, Kachin State, resulted in 40 SAC soldiers killed, while an ambush in Myinmu, Sagaing, killed an additional 30 junta troops.
- July 13: Resistance forces conducted a drone attack on a police station and school in Kawkareik Township, Kayin State, killing two SAC soldiers.
- July 14: Seven civilians were arrested by junta forces in Letpadan Township, Bago region, as part of ongoing human rights violations.
