The reporting period was marked by one of the deadliest massacres since the coup, following a massive SAC airstrike on a public ceremony in Sagaing Region. Resistance forces intensified attacks on junta outposts and festival pavilions across the country, particularly in Tanintharyi and Mandalay.
Key Events
- On April 11, a SAC airstrike on a public administration building opening in Pazigyi village, Kanbalu township, killed at least 160 people, including 21 children, followed by secondary attacks on rescue workers.
- The Chin National Defense Force (CNDF) captured a junta army outpost in Vaar, Falam township on April 10, killing 10 soldiers and capturing 14 others alive.
- Resistance forces launched a series of drone and mortar attacks on SAC-sponsored Thingyan festival pavilions and security checkpoints in Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing, and Mon State.
- A sustained military offensive in Shwegu township, Kachin State, resulted in approximately 1,000 homes being burned down across 12 villages between late March and mid-April.
- Nine civilians were killed in an SAC airstrike targeting Wai Bu La town in Falam township, Chin State, on April 10.
